Good tuna, basic English menu but very helpful waitress and even had little chat with the cook as I was sitting in front of him. Very nice experience overall

Amazing food. There is a limited English menu and extensive Japanese menu, as we seat at the bar and could see everything the chef did we just talked with him and ask him for the next dish. We had some sashimi (to start and end), tempura (the best ever, with baby fish), simple egg roll (amazing), fried chicken and fried small fish. It was everything delicious! Most of the people in the restaurant were locals that made the experience even better. The chef was very friendly to us. Can only recommend this place. Try the tuna as it is one of the main dishes of the down because of the fish market.

Great food and exceptional hospitality! Came in when it was already pretty full for dinner, but the chef took the time to ask us what kind of food we were craving and to suggest some truly delicious menu items. They have a small translated English menu with a few set dinners, which are also very good, but don't be afraid to ask for recommendations. All the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and we got to try some amazing dishes that we wouldn't have known about otherwise. Can't recommend enough! I hope we'll be back again one day.

They are not well prepared for tourists. The japanese menu did list a big number of dishes, but as a tourist we were offered only a very limited english menu. As we ordered the 2nd time, we just used the uploaded images to show what we would like to order. This worked out! The meals were very delicious!

Extremely delicious

Sashimi is as fresh as you can get, and beautifully prepared by the friendly chef. The waitress is helpful and friendly too. Was surprised and delighted to find a vegetarian option - deliciously balanced tofu salad with a fresh dressing. Great experience for visitors to the charming town of Kii-katsuura.

Great authentic Japan. Chef speaks good english, he helped us order. We loved everything including the eel and eggplant miso creation. Good wine, full of friendly people.

We had very tasty sashimi and tempura. It famous location for lacal peoples and the staff can speak English and will help you out. The price is good and you will get high quality food.

A delicious sashimi set of fresh locally caught tuna and a beer with good company of friendly locals and very hospitable chef and staff - around 2500 yen per person. A perfect ending to a five day Kumano Kodo walk

Incredibly rude treatment

Super delicious food and super friendly chef (who also tries his best to help you out in english)! Makes the best combo with awesome Katsuura area and surroundings. Definitely worth a visit! It was our second time here and I'm already looking forward to come back.

Tuna Bowls are great quality for the price! They also serve whale if you are interested - be wary. The fried whale tasted nothing like I expected. Check out the pizza place next door for drinks after.
